Class Act is for anyone who cares about music, not just for those who want to be on the stage. If you’re interested in the management or entrepreneurial side of the industry then Class Act is for you too. Anyone can join by signing up for our Newsletter.

If you’re really passionate about music, talented and at school or 6th form college, you’re in the right place, and you’ll want to enter The BRIT Class Act competition!

Any style and genre of music will be accepted, from rap to opera, mandolin to metal – anything goes as long as it’s the best you’ve got to offer. First, your school needs to be a registered member of our partner site Numu.

Numu is a FREE website and community for schools and organisations to deliver engaging music activities online. Students can safely publish music, join projects and compete in a unique national chart.

Our first prize draw competition to win tickets to this year’s BRITs has now closed. Throughout the year the Class Act website will be providing you with the opportunity to understand and become a part of the real music industry. From putting on a gig to managing a band, Class Act will bring you closer to the famous artists and experts behind the scenes who make up one of the most exciting industries in the world.

In September we’ll be launching the BRIT Class Act competition; upload your tracks, compete in the Official UK Schools' Chart and you could be winning a BRIT Class Act Award.

Students have until September this year to practise hard and be ready to submit their best track. The Class Act website will provide hints, tips and prizes along the way to encourage you.

Each month Class Act will focus on the best tracks that have been uploaded into Numu. These will be reviewed by top artists and industry professionals.

From September 2010 the brand new Official UK Schools' Chart will begin.

The best and most listened to tracks will go forward to a panel of BRIT judges to decide a shortlist.

The public will vote for the winner from the shortlist.

The winner will receive their BRIT Class Act Award from one of their music idols at the 2011 show.
